my 2005 camry temp gage seems to go from halfway to flot up to H after going
65 mph for 20 miles or so ,when I slow down it goes back to halfway or after in
city traffic or at a light after a hr of driving needle stays halfway

What Engine is in this vehicle. Mileage? Sounds like a Cooling System Check is in order. Did you perhaps open the hood and check the Coolant Level?
