where is the alarm buzzer located on a 93 hzj cruiser ute and can it be unplugged

Asked by brianthechief Jan 31, 2014 at 10:05 PM about the Toyota Land Cruiser

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I got conned into giving a car that wouldn't start a jump start. Hooked up jumper leads and after a while of failed attempts to start noticed heaps of burnt and melted wiring at rear of engine bay ( not recent ). realizing this car had far more problems than a lazy battery I took off jumper leads and headed home. Within a short time an ear piercing alarm came on ( no lights ) and wont stop while ignition sw. is on. It is that loud I cant drive the car.  HELP  just want to unplug it till I can get to a mechanic but cant find it.

To be honest, I'm not 100% certain on that particular model of cruiser... But if Toyota followed their usual pattern of engineering, it's just above the top of the glove box liner.
