It can be done, but why? Sure the 302 doesn't have as much horsepower but it has a LOT more torque and a LOT lower in the revs than the 5.0 overhead cam engine. Seems like a lot of work for little or no gain. The 302 is probably burning oil because of valve seals and they are a cheap fix. Bling can be added.

I think its an excellent choice, the new DOHC 302 is way more fuel efficient as well. It has in excess of 400hp & 390 ft/lb torque. The 302 windsor only had 225 hp and 300 ft/lb torque in its best offering in fuel injected form. For starters you would need to change the K-member to one from a 1996-2004 Mustang that had the 4.6 in. Then custom headers, I think Ford SVT offers a computer/ wiring kit for the swap. Good luck.
Hell yeah man!! Best swap ever!!! I think SVT offers a complete engine/exhaust/computer/k-member bolt in kit.
