I have a Mk2 MR2 1991 auto which won't rev past 6000 When I press power button it wont rev past 6000 so wont change gear

first I am wondering what you mean by a "power button"? Second your car should not need to hit 6k rpm to shift gears, most cars should only need to see 2000-2500 rpm to shift if you are driving normally.
