I have an answer that I had up, to "crack the code", that I have saved, but suddenly occurred to me I am explaining how to break in to a car. I am very sensitive about this having been the victim of a car theft. How can you reassure me that is not the case? You have never been on this site before, I don't know you. Just think of a way to reassure me and I will post the "codecracker"
I agree. I'm not inclined to post such info either - it's on my list of things that don't get posted - like how to defeat safety devices.
Only reason im asking is because i just bought the truck, and ive looked eveywhere inside and out and cant find the code the dealer wants 65 dollars to hook it up to the laptop to read the code just trying to save a little cash..

If it were easy, then the dealer wouldn't have to be in the loop and car thieves would be breaking the codes.. Check all of your documentation, it may be written down somewhere there.. If its not available there, then the Ford dealer is likely the only alternative.. Check other dealers - you may get it cheaper than the $65.00 - I paid $50.00 for the code once.. Make sure you don't lose it then!!
There is a card in your owners manual case that has a code on it so you can reprogram any code you want.
