Do I take off Both Battery Cables,to ResetThe engine check light?

1999 is the year of my
Ford Exsplorer. Do I disconnect both
Battery cables to Reset the Check engine
light? or just one?

You can try just disconnecting the negative battery terminal. I did this a few years ago on a 2002 Durango. You should leave it disconnected for 5 or 10 minutes and it should clear the codes.

In any case. For those OBD-1 cars/trucks disconnecting the neg battery cable from battery is all that is needed to cut the power off the electrics and clear codes leave disconnected for a few minutes. Disconnecting both the positive and negative is not needed. Only the negative side.
