f-150 dayna rears

my ford is too old to help ya on that but figured youd need the correct spelling of DANA to get your research right

im not 100% sure but ithink ford uses their own rear end

i just had to have the carrier bearings and pinion bearing done. my mechanic said it was a dana 60 i think, which i thought was kinda odd

Ford uses its own "sterling" rears as well as dana 60s and 70s for some super duty models, if you're doing alot of towing, offroading, or running big tires, you want a 3/4 or 1 ton rear end for the bigger diameter ring gear, and the thicker axle shafts

I usualy re bearing them at 150,000 mi. Mine has a posi with 355 gears. I have 100,000 mi on it trouble free

Ford only uses New Prosess diff's in their Pickups, since 1979

thats bs they used the 9 inch and the 8.8 in the 80s.i dont remember np(nv) making axles. the 9 inch in ford pickups dates back to the 50s to the 80s.
