drive shaft on my 89 ford f150...

im having a drive shaft problem on my truck. it keeps throwing it. and i cant figure it out. any help willl be apreciated.

Keeps throwing it? well either your bolts arnt tight holding the u- joint in the pinion or your tranny mounts are trashed. this isnt something that should happen. also check the shackles for the springs in the back. if your rear end is moving to much that could pull the yoke right out of the tranny

My newpew had somewhat of the same problem with his ford, although the shaft wasn't thrown, but would sure made a hell of a noise bouncing around when he drove it. I finally pulled the tranny because I could not see anything wrong. Across the top of the tranny, near where the shaft enter the transmission, the housing was cracked.

Is the truck lifted? is it 4x4? front shaft, rear shaft? if the truck is lifted it can cause this to happen on either shaft. that is if its lifted 4+".
