2006 Ford Freestyle

Last 3 months we have been trying to diagnose an issue and we can't figure
it out.  We took it to a mechanic and he kept it for a month and drove it a few
times but it never happened to him.  Our freestyle goes into "limp mode" the
wrench comes on, codes are read and has to deal with the battery/alternator
which have both been replaced along with a new PCM.  It's still acting up
and I'm hoping someone here knows about this issue and can give advice on
how to fix it.  I won't even sell it like this so please share your expertise on
how to fix it. Thank you

You need to do testing when problem is ongoing. Intermittent issues can be a pain. You can use a digital multimeter at the generator bat terminal when problem is ongoing, take a reading. Also, the generator, did you buy a rebuilt generator? My ford tech info says rebuilders have a tough time rebuilding ford generators correctly. I don't know if new generator from dealership would help? I'd hate to see you throw parts at it, that can get expensive? I always try to check component wiring circuits before replacing component. If something wrong with wiring circuit, replacing the component won't fix it. good luck
