2006 Ford Freestyle with 198000 miles. Started going into limp mode after running for 20+- miles. Changed throttle body and having the same problem. When I get it back home and shift from park to reverse, then to drive, each shift is a very sharp "clunk". Engine runs smooth as ever. Any thoughts?

Same issue. Replaced throttle body sensor because I was getting a code that was a transmission code related to the throttle body, but I was still in limp mode. Cant remember the exact code. After doing some test and because the car couldn't go any where the alternator couldn't keep the battery charged to start anymore. Then I attempted to jump it but couldn't get it to jump. As soon as I replaced the car battery, everything worked, and that transmission light went off. No longer limp mode. Hopefully this solves your issue.
Luckily I took a photo. This was 2016 lol
SE LE REPARO LA TRANSMISION Y TODO PERO NO CAMINA Y AL ENCENDERLA HACE UN RUIDO RARO COMO UN HELICOPTERO Y AL PONERLA EN NEUTRAL SE QUITA ESE RUIDO PERO NO ACELERA Y SI TIRA CAMBIOS Y SE PROTEGE AL MOMENTO DE TIRAR EL CAMBIO Y APARECE LA LLAVE INGLESA Y EL CHECK ENGINE ESTA PRENDIDO Y DA EL CODIGO P0701 PERO IGUAL NO CAMINA
