will 4.0 motor from 1992 ford Ranger fit  into 1998 4.0 ford Ranger? Will I have
to change anything else?

No, a 1992 model is OBD I but a 1998 model is OBD II. They're completely different computer control systems. The oldest you can go with this is a 1996. Hope that helps!
