1999 ford taurus not blowing heat

I don't know what someone was trying to tell you to do but I have some suggestions to help with your concern. First make sure the cooling system is full. Run the engine to operating temp by driving it for 7 to 10 minutes. Open the hood and check to see if the top radiator hose is warm or hot. It should be. Next, check the 2 heater hoses going into the firewall. They should be warm too. If one is warm and one is not, remove the hoses and flush the heater core with a garden hose.
