You have to charge it on the low pressure side ONLY. That would be the bigger of the two air cond. lines. Usually there is a port that comes right out of the plastic box that is mounted to the firewall. Look for a port with a RED cap on it. Your Recharge kit hose will only fit on that line as the high pressure hose has a much bigger quick-connect port. It should take 3 cans to fill it . They are $15.00 each at autozone, don't forget a small can of oil first. If the third can won't empty try turning it upside down . Then it will go in as a gas not a liquid. Good Luck, Kenny.
How much freeon go in a 2007 grand marquis
MrBlueOval answered 8 years ago
Your Grand Marquis should take about 2-1/2 12 oz. cans of R-134. and a 1/2 can of air compressor oil. This is usually available with the oil, stop-leak and the R-134 Freon in one large combined bottle with the hose already attached for around $45 at any autoparts store and at Walmart as well. Otherwise each can of Freon is about $16 now. The low side hose fitting should be marked with a "RED" cap on it and should be the closet to the evaporator or the firewall (nearest to the windshield of the car).If you are not experienced in this matter, I would advise you to let a qualified auto technician do it for you. You can EASILY INFLICT BODILY HARM if you don't know what you are doing. R-134 runs with VERY HIGH PRESSURE. You can normally have it charged up at any Jiffy-Lube or oil change station or at your local Ford dealer. Look for coupons for a free oil change or at a discount with an air cond. recharge. Good luck, Stay Cool, Kenny/MrBlueOval.
