Where is the hood latch?

Sitting in the driver seat, there should be an open hood car symbol all the way on the bottom left of the dashboard. Under that is the latch in an opening, pull it forward till you hear a pop, then outside the car, with your left hand pic up the hood as you slide your right hand between the gap near the middle of the grill where the Subaru emblem is and push to your left to release the hood.

I have a 2012 Subaru and I don’t know how to open the hood of the engine

There is no hood release latch in the front of my car on the dash board , this year’s 2012 the hood latch is hidden. I don’t have and owners manual and don’t want to wait to buy one just for this situation
