what years have timing chains

The H6 engine has had a timing chain for a long time... at least 15 years. The 2.5 Four cylinder cars had timing chains starting with the 2013 model year and newer.
Unfortunately the new Subaru engines with the timing chains use oil due to the oil control ring design and the ultra thin oil Subaru specifies.
2013 and 2014 are the worst offenders. It's definitely true and that's why there's a settlement . It's unfortunate that the positive side of the timing chain is negated by the oil burning issues. http://www.girardgibbs.com/subaru-oil-consumption-class-action- lawsuit/
Interesting video on oil consumption.... See this below https://youtu.be/xa1kqSo3aeM
Paste this link to a page look for the truth about oil consumption https://youtu.be/xa1kqSo3aeM
The issue about the oil consumption could have been handled differently ... bad strategy.. resulting in the lawsuit...
Also, see this video about timing chains or belts... and turbos... Actually, this guy really says it doesn't matter.... https://youtu.be/8BW5goupvQ4
By the way...in case you were wondering, this guy is a degree certified mechanical engineer....see this website link below https://au.linkedin.com/in/john-cadogan-a207598b
"This guy" is actually in the pay of the automotive industry. His specialty is marketing - in other words he is a spinmeister and a salesman.
Hi l have a question do you recommend me to buy a Subaru legacy 2006 h6 ?
To the guru above - start a new thread and provide more info on the car in question.
Subaru replaced the short block in our 2013 legacy at 63,000 miles free of charge, explaining when the robot bored the cylinders it did a poor job of it, 0-20 oil or timing chain has nothing to do with it, now has 110,000 on it, uses no oil between changes 10,000 miles, Mobil one 0-20! The myths abound, I guesss they had so much ill luck with 0-20 oil is why they still use it today! They aren’t stupid
To my armchair friends, I seriously doubt whether a lot of you have ever owned a Subaru of any kind! One posted that the 4 cylinder cars just do not have enough power to get out of way, they will get to 60 in a little less than 7 seconds, so drive one before you say the 6 is really needed. We also have a 2011 outback 2.5 premium, uses Mobil 5w30, change it every 10k, also uses no oil. Again, a lot of other cars use 0w20 also, Honda for one, I guess they use oil also because they are boneheaded and just don’t want to use better oil, your remarks make me tired, I have been a master mechanic for over 50 years, it qualifies me....
OK. KISD principle. Boxer vs. 6 cylinder/ manual vs automatic.
I have a 2013 2.5i Prem. Legacy. I did had issue with the oil consumption ever since I switched out the Subaru brand motor oil to Ardeca 0w20 never had any issue with oil consumption.
I'm looking for a Subaru outback. I thought I wanted a 2008 XT but now I'm wondering. I could get a 2012 for about the same price. What one is a better car? Or should I look for a different year all together?
What years have timing chains -- You didn't show me nothing but remarks from readers
