All cars require maintenance to operate properly. Fluids, brakes, rotors. Your driving style will also determine maintenance requirements. When choosing a car, it has been my experience NOT to find a car with low miles On a10 year old car, I look for a car that has gone through it's regularly scheduled maintenance. For example a car with 78K has had fluids changed on time. Clutch replaced and so on. A car 10 years old with 30K miles has been sitting. Fluids have not been circulated. Most importantly. All components have not been brought up to operating temperatures for EVEN WEAR. And, that's the key my friend. I have had race engines with over 200 RACE hours at FULL throttle still performing. Temps on engine were kept under 250. Fresh oil. The Porsche 911 continues to perform at strong levels. In my mind. Car abuse is letting it sit in a garage year after year. Sure, you can start it once a week. But, it's not the same as driving it at normal operating temperatures. MOST IMPORTANTLY, a low mile car may required many, many parts all at once. Simply because parts have not been replaced a normal scheduled times. Find a car, that has had parts replaced at the normal scheduled intervals. Clutch replaced at 25K is a RED FLAG. Good luck with your search.

A simple Carrera will do nicely. Ask for maintenance records and review them carefully. Get a PPI from a Porsche Authorized service center, it is worth the $200 many times over.I had mine checked before buying it and it turned out to be in great shape.

911 seems to hold value over time like a Rolex (example 1996 RS America 911) as this is most popular on resale market also silver or black is popular color if you plan on owning for only a few years. Every 60K on a Porsche will cost you around 2K in maintenance but u will have no issues after this. A lot of folks get sticker shock at maintenance cost of mechanics that range from 60 to 120 dollars per hour so you see a lot of cars go up for sale at this time which is good time to pick up as the car is just getting broke in and has depreciated to a decent price. Do your maintenance and you will have little or no worries, take it to a cheap mechanic and lose sleep or possibly or life. Don't go cheap on maintenance, if you want cheap maintenance buy a chevy or ford. BLUF have a maintenance reserve and take care of small stuff to avoid the big stuff if this makes any sense. Every Porsche I have owned exceeded 300,000+ by taking care of small stuff.
