How do I get into my car if the battery is dead I left the lights on in my 02 mitsubishi. I can't even unlock the doors to get in with my key

I got the car keys but the battery is so dead that it won't unlock the car I never heard of a car that does that cause with a normal car you'd stick the key in the key hole and turn boom it unlocks but mine don't for some reason and I can't afford to break a window
