Is the 1995 Mitsubshi Lancer and Mirage the same car?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a friend who has 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer in the Philippines and I
wanted to know if the 1995 Lancer and Mirage has the same engine?
I'm pretty sure that the car was assembled/manufactured in the Philippines
so I don't know if it would be best for me to purchase auto parts out there or
get them in the US?

The Lancer and the Mirage were essentially the same car, they have gone through different and complicated changes in names for marketing purposes; Chrysler marketed the car under the name Colt when it was first introduced. The Lancer was assembled from 1987 to 2012 at the Mitsubishi Manufacturing Plant in Cainta, Phillippines; from mid 2012 to today it is assembled under the name Space Star at the Santa Rosa assembly plant, also in the Phillipines. So should I purchase auto parts in the US that are for a 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage or should I wait until I reach the Philippines and find a good source where to get auto parts?
I am sure that you can find parts for the 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage here in the U.S. as well as in the Phillippines, where vehicles are probably kept for a long time. I would go online and search for specifics parts for the Mirage from suppliers in the U.S. and also check websites in the Phillippines, that will give you and idea of what to do. I wish you good luck!
