Question type: Maintenance & Repair

While I was driving my car it just shut down I lost all power, I assumed it was my alternator so I replaced it. It still wouldn't start so I started looking at my battery and found my connections weren't tight, corrected that problem and now it wont start but will crank. At wits ends I know it something simple just can't put my finger on it. Please help....

When you say it lost power do you mean electrical power or engine power? If it just quit and now won't start it could be the fuel pump. Regardless, do some proper diagnostics before throwing money at the car on random parts hoping the problem will go away. Just sayin... not trying to be critical.
