Hi, i have a problem with my car

What can happen after you jump another car with
your car?  Can affect the ignition switch?

I have a jeep Cherokee laredo 2008 every time i try to start it is burn the fuse and my mecanic said is the ignition switch but when i turn the key everything work but when i try to start it is when the fuse go off, what can be the problem? I appreciate if anyone can help me, thanks.
