You can simply google Jeep such n such year fuse panel diagram. Ex. http://colorado4wheel.com/images/misc/fusepanel.jpg That link is an image result I got searching 97 jeep cherokee fuse panel diagram.

The BRAKE LIGHT FUSE IS LABELED AS THE BRAKE SWITCH... IF THE BRAKE LIGHT STILL DOESN'T WORK TAKE OFF THE LENS COVERS REMOVE THE TOP BULB AND WITH AND WITH A FINE STRAIGHT BLADE PULL UP THE METAL CONTACTS ON THE LENS COVER...
