Head gasket
The head gasket in my 91 jeep cherokee Laredo blew. I replaced the head gasket and
put my jeep back together. Everything seemed fine right off the start. After about 20 miles
it started to overheat . I pulled over let it cool down and added coolant as it was low. It
took about a gallon+ or so. It seemed to have done the job and did not over heat right
away. Dater the 20 miles back to my house it started to loose power and started to
sputter. It did so until it completely died. When I checked then engine bay I had milky
white milkshaky oil seeping out from under my oil cap. I then inspected the dip stick and
sure enough I had water mixed with oil on it. So my head gasket blew again or my head
is cracked. Would this be fair to say?
Can a hair line crack cause you to loose most if not all of your water into the oil?
When I redid the head gasket I used the same head bolts. I find torque them 5 foot lbs
more as suggested when reusing head bolts.
Could the head bolts be the problem?
Should I have not reused them?
