got hot turned it off then tried to turn it back on it sound like it would but didn't then after cool started and drove fine

Figure out why it got hot. May be a bad thermostat, or low on coolant, or a bad water pump or plugged radiator, or a bad head gasket, and maybe the fans are not working. Just have to figure it out.
