Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my s60 when you kick it down and run up to high speed blowes oil(3qts in 10 miles) from a whole in the rear(right side when faceing as engine sets sideways)It is about the size of a quarter is smooth sided not threaded looks brass sided with a 1/4 inch whole at the bottom  in is about 6 inches above the oil pan and can only be seen when on a lift with a mirror the machanic says it looks like something pushes into the whole no wires ar hanging in the area to me it looks like an old PCV in older cars. Leahaman volvo in harrisburg Pa cannot identify the missing part, Without knowing what part is missing I cannot buy the part to put in Leahaman say may be a freeze plug but is BLOWES oil not antifreeze i am loking for a shop manual to try ti identify the missing part any ideas

Could be a core or freeze plug, They can wear and rust causing them to pop out. They should be checked occasionally. They are holes that were part of the manufacturing process of the block or head. Then they just pug them.
