If you are reading this, consider yourself fortunate. I can admit for myself that with the flood of media and entertainment today, it is hard to stop and actually THINK about the important things.
Ask yourself this: Knowing that innovation improves things over time, why is that the 1977 Honda Civic achieved 54 mpg, and the 2011 Civic, almost 35 YEARS later, gets 34-36 at best?
First, don't trust me--check the facts on the 1977 Civic CVCC. Then, I urge you to ask yourself and those around you some serious questions regarding federal government regulations in general, and the EPA in particular.

For the simple fact that emissions control systems also negatively impact an engine's efficiency. 54 MPG at how many tons of emissions? Thats the problem, along with Ethanol in the gasoline.
