can a honda accord of prelude engine fit into a crx?

If the engine will fit into the engine compartment of the CRX and if you can get the motor mounts to line up, you should be able to upgrade your Civic, although it may take a bit of expert custom wiring and fitting. I agree with Bovan - the short answer is...maybe. There have been literally dozens of Accord/Prelude engine/transmission variants over the years that might have been stuffed into a CRX at one time or another. To make it easier I'll use one example: A 2.3L Prelude VTEK engine will "fit" into a 1991 CRX with substantial structural modifications to the CRX frame. Unlless you run your own welding shop, this would cost a lot of money. So In this case - will it fit? Yes. Would you want to? Probably not. If you want an engine that will "bolt-in" to a CRX, thereby minimizing your cost while achieving a significant performance gain, then your options are very limited. yes it they will fit, they make swap kits for them which consist of custom motor mounts pretty much. everything else will bolt up, and the stock wiring harness will work, you just need a prelude ecu. also if you swap a vtec engine in you need to run the wiring for that and put in a relay somewhere. most people use the ac relay if it came with it but there are other options. another option for a swap if you wanted a little more room in the engine bay is either a b16 or a b18.
theres no MAYBE to this question ive seen it done hundreds of times....you just gotta buy the mounts wich u can get newhere abnd you have to cut the wheel well on the inside for some clearence but once u do that ur crx will be a beastttt..........this is coming from a crx fanatic who drives 1 with a swap
don't use an accord engine. with preludes, you have two decent motor choices. both will fit. one is the h23, non vtec, but soild power. that's the motor in mine. also there is the h22, which is vtec. and more power and higher rev limiter. hasport makes good swap kits.
lots of work and money...not really worth it. go for a bigger civic engine, like a b18c1
yes it can but i suggest going for a b16/b18/k20a...most likely you will have to switch over the wiring to OBD1or 2 Depending on the year and the motor you go with. By the way... Anything will fit with the proper modding.
umm wtf? you can fit any engine in any car. have you seen the 353 stroker in a crx? my friend has a k20 type r in his rex but you can fit anyhing in that car and the beauty is the main weight in that car is the motor and the drivers.
A CRX with an engine swap is great for the track. I would not dare drive this 2 seat death box on the street. The thought of getting squished by a Hummer or large SUV or rammed by a Smart Car!!!

The answer is yes, the question is, how much do you wanna spend. A B swap is more exspensive, but easier and generally more powerful. The B series also has a huge aftermarket for parts. A F2B or an H2B swap, using either an accord or Prelude engine, generally is cheaper because of the engines being in less demand. You can generally pick up a F block for piddling nothing. The problem is there is far more fabrication to do, and if you can't do it yourself, don't bother. The B swap is a better idea for you. If you're gonna do a B swap, find yourself a B18c1 and goto town. If you're gonna do an F2B or an H2B, get an H22, then goto the strip and eat up some B'tards

Yeah i did it to my 91 i took a h23 prelude engine an put it in. i had to cut some new holes for the motor mounts and had to cut some stuff an replace the wheel well. and it worked just fine
