2013 CRV transmission whines on deceleration between 45-65 mph
At 200 miles the transmission began whining the moment I hit 45mph and continues until I go over 65 mph whenever I decelerate slightly or coast. The sound has increased and I now have 2600 miles on the car. I have to now turn the radio up higher and higher to drown out the noise. Honda insists this is normal, but I have talked to 3 other owners of the same 2013 AWD and they do not hear any such noise. It is loudest at around 50mph. HELP

your help will come from the dealer- depending on the extent of their sympathy for you, it might be easy, it might be difficult, to get out of that car and get a new 5-speed off their lot, instead
Got so frustrated with the Dealer in Longmont CO and the terribly rude Honda dealer Rep that I took my Honda CRV 2013 to 3 independent repair shops. All had the same opinion; noise is from the transmission (in the final drive assembly in the transaxle caused by ring and pinion noise or possibly final gear/overdrive misalignment.) I am registering complaint with Honda in Torrance and follow-up with certified letter. Also, advised to ask dealer to exchange for another car or for them to take the car back. Sounds like others on Edmunds are experiencing same issue and getting no where with Honda so far. People need to lodge a complaint ! ! Sounds like there are not a lot of people reporting the problem, but most are in the Western US.
I bought a used 2012 CRV with, I think, the same problem. The transmission sounds like it wants to change gears but is already in the gear it should be in. Slowing down 'sounds' like it's already in the lowest gear but isn't. To me, it's very annoying. Dealer said it's running normal. I don't agree.

My new crv had a whining noise. Took it back, they said Honda were aware. They removed a bracket from a gearbox cable as a temporary fix.and I am waiting for a recall.
