2005 Honda Odyssey Battery Drain

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with a battery drain.  It only takes about a day.  I
used a multimeter.  Battery reads 12.62, start the van it reads 14.41 so the
battery and alternator should be good.  When I test for an amp draw it only
shows .48.  That doesn't seem like that would be enough of a draw to drain a
battery.  Any ideas?

After you shut it off there are things that draw current ( timers ) you have to wait about an hour then do the test , disable any hood lights , if you open the door you have to start over , search parasitic drain , as I remember .48 is too much .

Sequentially pulling fuses to isolate the circuit causing the drain is the first step. Then you can go after the problem and find the source of the drain.

Update: The reading on the meter was actually .98 the second time. I started pulling fuses under the hood first. 40 amp Back Up / Acessories and it went to 0.00. I plugged it back in and pulled fuses inside. Looks like it is a 10 amp fuse for the radio and 7.5 amp fuse labeled "Back Up". I left them both out and tested the battery this morning and it looks as if there was nothing drawing power. I guess those were it. Now I just need to figure out what needs to be done. I'm not very mechanically inclined.
