how much horse power do you need to do a wheeli

ive seen camaros do wheelies with only about 450 to 500 hp?? and how much of an angle are you talking about...like straight up and down youd need alot more, but to get the wheels up off the ground and up a lil bit...not much over stock

Its not just about horsepower, its also about where the center of gravity is in the car, torque, and how much grip your tires have. For instance you could have all the horsepower and torque in the world, but if your tires do not have enough grip all you'll be doing is spinning them and not lifting the front end.

excellent point, my bad for not listing the obvious lol your so right, the suspension and tread/tire itself can have many factors, and somwhat to do with power to weight ratio, like you said center of gravity.... i agree theres a lot more to poppin them tires up lol

Sticky tires, suspension, gearing, transmission type, weight, hp and torque are probably the main factors. I can pop the front tires up about 6 inches on the street running 434 hp and 475 ftlb of torque. 3000lb car, 3.70 gears, th400 trans with brake, 4200 converter, and Hoosier quicktime pros. On the track with some nitrous help (150 shot) they will come up almost 2 feet. I looks really cool, but actually eats into your et a bit. I personally think it worth it!
