What aspects/things must I realy look afther when buying a Chevy van g20 from 1981?

oil markes on the block, tranny, rear end. look for general rust. bubbles in the paint might be hiding cancer. how much oil or water drips out the tail pipe, feel the exhaust. have a compression test. weather stripping?. general care taken will show owners maintaince, clear title. pull the dip sticks block and tranny what color is the fluid?

Like most vehicles ...I would have an certified mechanic check the van over completely . If it drives nice , feels safe ...than it probably is . I have owned my share of G series vans and all have been very reliable .
