van will start, but wont stay running, it spits and sputters then dies, unless you have your foot on the gas reving it a little bit. we tried the plugs and wires, and loosening the gas cap....what else could it be?

yes. the accelerator position sensor (the TPS) sends errant signals to the ECU confusing the brew~

the ambient sensor will tell the computer how rich or lean to make the air/fuel mixture...if this one isn't doin' it's job properly, there will not be good combustion with added complications~

throttle body injection?...cannot seem to find your engine~...oh well still computer controlled...the fuel pressure regulator is an overlooked little goodie, if the vacuum line is cracked will suck air creating high idle and lousy performance~
