what gear should i be driving in.

Is this a trick question? If your Lumina is '95 or later, it has an automatic transmission, and you should drive in "Drive" or "D." If your Lumina is older and has a manual transmission, you should probably be in 3rd or 4th gear for most city driving and 4th gear for almost all highway driving. Hope that helps!
