"and with a little bit of help from an A dapter kit, we had that engine runnin' just like a song"----Johnny Cash You must make measurements yourself~
The 305 will drop right in, and the 3 speed automatic is likely the same transmission as the Malibu had from the factory. Probably a Turbo 350. If you want significantly better fuel economy, though, I would think about changing the transmission to a 200R4 overdrive automatic. That gives you both the locking torque converter and overdrive. The highway mileage with jump! The 200R4 is a good transmission once it has been rebuilt properly. From the factory they left a LOT to be desired.
The only thing I think would be a problem neutral switch Rewire switch us diagram from both cars But yes it will fit easy swop I think trans mount is the same brkt if not Switch brkt across frame Good luck
