I have a 1995 geo prizm with a bad motor and i went to a junk yard to get another one and when i got home i realized they gave me a motor for a 1996. will the 1996 motor work with my 95 or should i go back and get the correct one?

The intake is different and the motor has "96" and a stock number marked on the block with paint. It also appears to have a crank sensor where the 95 motor does not.

Gary, you can swap the intake, but i think your 95 gets it fireing from a cam sensor, not crank, check and see if the 96 has a cam sensor,if so you are ok,if it does not have cam sensor,it wont work.
