Dashboard Lights not coming on

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1984 Chevy S10, 2wd, 1.9L 4 spd MT.

Okay, the parking brake light, high beam, and turn signal indicators all come on when in
use. However, none of the lights behind the gauges turn on when I switch on the
headlights. I checked the fuses, and bulbs. everything seems to be in good working order.
Is it time to change out the headlight switch? Thanks for your time!

I checked the fuses, and they were all good. Turns out there was a short behind the gauges...got lucky when I found it. everything is cool now. a little dimmer than I would like (dimmer is as bright as it will go), but at least I can see how fast I am going now. Thanks all!

I am having the same problem.pulled the old cluster it was working except oil pressure.put another one in and nothing.I can hear turn signals but that's it.
