I put a multimeter on it and it is charging but the
battery light is still flashing and there is a message that says battery not
charging I took it to a chevy dealer the load tested it checked loose grounds
and other tests said it is working correctly and they don't know why the light
is on I have driven it for about 2 weeks so I know it is working I just want to
get the light and message off the dash

If it's a 1999-2006 it's probably the gauge cluster itself
got an 2004 it does the same thing my oil ....speedometer...and fuel gauges are not working all the time ....the cluster is messed up and now the alternator gage is showing "Battery not Charging"...but it cranks up with no problem
The battery light came on in my 2000 Silverado. I checked the battery and it was fine. And I cleaned the battery cable connections. I installed a new alternator and it was still on. Also the volt meter was showing less than 10 volts. So, I charged the battery fully and took the new (rebuilt) alternator back to the auto parts store and had them check it-it was bad right out of the box! I bought a brand new one (not rebuilt) and that fixed the problem.
I have a 2001 Blazer 4.3 liter. . I had my altenator go bad .. I replaced it with a Napa brand new Altenator.. Once installed the battery light began to flash. . I changer out the Altenator and battery once again using Napa brand products. . Same issue. . Battery light flashing.. After researching the issue and finding no answer I dove right in and found the problem. . It was the Altenator. . For some reason the Altenators dont send the proper 5v back to the PCM.. I changed it out for the third time using a BOSH Atenator.. And like that all better..

I have a 2000 v8 Silverado pickup. The battery warning light came on and stayed on durning driving. Turned off the truck , then turned it back on the light again came in and stayed on until the warning light started getting dimmer and dimmer until the truck shut itself off and now won't start or crack over.
