2002 silverado 1500 4x4 extended cab. I'm replacing the brake lines and need to know the routing order along the frame rails.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to remove the old rusted brake lines in pieces, and now have the new prebent lines I ordered from Rockauto, com in the truck and attached to the ABS unit. But I am having trouble routing the lines through the clips that hold them to the frame. I need to know the order that they go through the clips, (front left brake, front right brake, master cylinder front port, cylinder rear port), for a clean and proper repair. All four lines run through the same clip and I need to know what position they occupy in the clips, (top, bottom, right, left, first, second, third). I have been looking online for a routing diagram but can only find ones that show how they hook up to the ABS unit and nothing as to how they are routed along the frame. Any help would appreciated. So far it's been a pain.

Well should of could of, should have drawn a diagram. About the only thing I can suggest would be to start putting in the lines for best fit, not securing anything in, not even tightening the fittings, and see the flow of the lines for a best fit. Once you can see that the lines are going to where they belong, then start securing everything.

Find one in your local pick-a-part you can scope out. Or go somewhere bound to have a lot of Chevy trucks, like say the local honky-tonk or rodeo or mud wrestling fest, pull out a mechanic's creeper and flashlight and slide under a few looking at the brake lines. On second thought don't do that.
