I have a 1996 Silverado. Will not go in drive or reverse unless i rev the engine really high. if i drop it into four wheel drive low it will take right off but will not shift. Any suggestions?

First check the transmission fluid level. If that is good the thing to do is to go to a transmission shop for proper diagnosis. If there is around 150,000 or more miles on the trany, chances are it would need to be rebuilt.
