I have a 2004 Silverado 5.3L Z71 that the 4 wheel drive will not engage. The control switch lights come on at startup but then go off completely and will not respond. What is the possible problem?

2004 Chevy Silverado 5.3L. 4 wheel drive will not engage. Stays in 2 wheel drive. transfer case control lights up at initial start up, but go out thereafter.

I have the same problem with my 04 Silverado it will not go into 4 wheel drive it stuck in 2 wheel drive it's the manual transfer case help me I had some work done on it and Washington I live in Montana put a new casing on the transfer case cuz it was leaking and when I got it back it would not go into 4 wheel drive and there saying that it has nothing to do with them that used to go into 4 wheel drive just fine frustrated help
