4 wd not operable

Hi guys. I have an '89 suburban. The front end binds really bad. While going
straight or turning I have the binding, walking, and rocking experience. Just
changed the hubs and the outer u joints and changed the fluid in the dif. No
metal or play or damage to the gears. When driving on dry pavement
(experimentally, very short distance) bad binding hopping and it feels like I
can feel the front gears meshing.(low freq buzz or vib.). Any deas?

I think you may have it stuck in 4WD. If it binds when going straight something is wrong. Are the gear ratio and tires the same, front and back?
