Did you disconnect the negative battery terminal before you replaced the alternator?

Yes, both cables were unhooked. I also installed a brand new battery. Positive cable on first then negative.

Check for a relay staying in the closed position.

Check switch on dash or column and other bulb to see if it is blown. (One not lit)

Is the switch on that is on top of the steering column behind the wheel?

Is the positive making contact with the negative side of that circuit? Had this in an old Chevy years ago.
