Air blows hot even though compressor cold, done this before, could be blend door, fix?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This happened last year and I ran my hand under the dash and got the air going and it worked well all summer. Now this summer, it started off blowing hot air then cold now for the last few weeks, hot only. The compressor and lines are cold so I know the coolant is ok. I ask at Advanced Auto and they "thought" it was the air blend. Any idea on how to fix?

My wifes 98 Grand prix had the same symptons even after I had changed to a new compressor and exspansion valve (nozzle). Though the A/C gauges said it was fully recharged it took a couple more cans of 134aR (and showed over charged on a/c gauges) to get it to really cool properly.

check the heater control assembly or the servo or heater control valve. A good way to test it is to block off your heater core. Then drive it.
