will a 1996 dodge ram 4.7 v8 fit a 2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7 v8?

It will fit but it won't run unless you get the computer and wiring harness that ran the 1996 motor. The reluctor (tone rings) are different between the two. Still could make it work but then you have to change this buy taking out the crank shaft to do so, also the timing gear for the cam sensor. The 1996 motor has a 12 or 16 tooth reluctor as they changed for 2002 to the 32 reluctor ring. This is what the crank sensor reads.
