You have to factor in the cost of removal and reinstall as well as the actual rebuild. A total cost these days is ballpark $5K range. You can start budgeting that much. That includes R&R, rebuild and fluids and labor and a year warranty. For a qualified shop its a full days work, sometimes into the next day. Get some quotes from some local transmission shops. Are you dropping it off and having someone do it, I can guess around half the amount I said.

You can buy a rebuilt for a grand. Install will run another grand if done right by a pro.
