drove it a little ways and it shut down found thatthere was no oil

If there is no oil the engine will seize up. If the engine seized then you will need a full engine rebuild.

OPPS, no good, looks like you will need a new engine or a new truck

No oil on the dipstick does not necessarily mean there is no oil. Just means it is between low and out.
