i have ;a 2008 dodge ram 4.7 an im looking for a used motor an i want to no if any other year modos will fit in it.

Just a recommendation. If you get a used motor, also grab the ECM and mass flow air sensor to that engine. May save some big headaches down the road.

Hi I checked and it shows a different part number for the engines from 2004/2007 to 2008/2009...this may be due to different PCM (power control modules)....but it may be just small internal differences.... I will do a little more research on it and let you know ...Ooh and by the way Dodge does not use mass flow air sensors ...they use a system that is called speed density that calculates they way fuel and spark is delivered by means of TPS and MAP sensors ...ur truck will have a electric throttle body...the other thing you want to keep in mind is that if your engine has self destructed and put metal though out the engine..Chrysler recommends replaced the intake as well do to hot pieces of metal getting stuck in the plastic

My Caravan is a '90 and I guess back then it was ECM before it changed to PCM around maybe '95? :) I'm behind the times....

Hi again I took sometime and just thought about your question and why there is two different part numbers for the engines from the 2007 to the 2008 model and remembered that your year is the first year that engine uses two spark plugs per cylinder ...also the oil filter is different as well as the intake that's the year they switched it to the electric throttle body ...so you will have to find a 2008 and newer engine for your truck ...hope this helps

are you the original owner? if so, when in 2008 did you purchase the truck? some 2008 rams have a lifetime powertrain warranty. check with your dealer.

and the 2008 and up 4.7 is different than the older ones.
