I turn the keyto my 1997 dodge ram and i have power to everything but i get nothing, I
thought it was my ignition switch so i changed that, then I thought it might be a relay

Replace the solenoid. On my 2000 dodge it was on the passenger side under the hood just below the valve cover near the front of the motor near the fan.

I dont even get the starter to even engage, when it started it would take several times turning the key on and off with nothing happing then finally it would turn over and start. now it dose nothing, I just want to make sure cause ive put a new battery in and ignition switch and relay fuse both under the hood and the dash board. its draining me of cash quickly. ..I thank all of you for the info. anything eles i need to know?

Its going to be the starter if you have current to it when the key is turned.

Was it the Solenoid or the Starter? With my 2000 Dodge I went through 2 Solenoids in one year and it turned out that there was a short in my computer which was leaving 12 volts power to one side of my solenoid all the time, which burned it out faster than usual. $800 for a new computer or $17 for a solenoid so keep one in the glove box LOL.

could be the computer. my 95 Dakota did that intermittently when the computer wen out.

I know old thread, but the built in factory security system will cause a no start too, u will get power to the dash, but no power to the starter..
