Have you tried manually (sorry for the pun) putting the tranny in 1st? But I digress, if the pickup will even move n all the ground between you n the shop is level or downhill, then sure, it's worth a shot. That said, if she's "stuck" in 4th gear, she mite also crap out completely on the way.
