Question type: Car Customization

Ordering a new 2500 diesel to tow my 36 ft 5th wheel.  I have options to replace
original alternator with a 220 amp, 2 220 amps for 440 amps or add 1 220 amp
for 380 amps.

What should I do? I have no clue why the choices and can't get answers.

I have no idea yet. No one could even tell me if I would need them or not. They just have no clue at the dealers.

Also remember RV batteries are usually deep cycle you don't want to cook them on fast charges.. Fast charging them shortens there life and you won't get full deep cycle out of them.. Slow is good. Lower amps

Thanks all. I will go with the 220 amp alternator.

The 7 way plug is usually limited to about 10-15A, so that is the max the 5th wheel can get.
