What are some examples that would prompt the status of a car for sale as
"salvage reported"?

This means the vehicle was damaged to the point that an insurance company deemed it a total loss because it would cost more to fix the vehicle than it was worth at the time of the damage. This is probably not a vehicle you would want! Jim
